Kailyn Lowry finally outright confirmed she secretly welcomed a fifth child — her first with beau Elijah Scott.
The “Teen Mom 2” alum told People magazine that she and Scott welcomed a son named Rio last year, but kept the news a private matter because she wanted to control the narrative.
“I wanted to be able to tell my own story on my own terms and kind of share what information I wanted to share instead of being within a contractual obligation or storyline,” Lowry told the publication.
She admitted that she still wasn’t necessarily “ready” to share the news about Rio, but people continuously asked her about her rumored pregnancy.
“I kind of feel like my hands are tied. People are announcing it for me and so, at this point, I might as well just talk about it,” Lowry, 31, explained.
“At this point, I can at least try to do it my way.”
The reality star also admitted she and Scott weren’t planning to have a child together, and instead welcomed Rio as a “pleasant surprise.”
Lowry also shares sons Creed, 3, and Lux, 6, with ex Chris Lopez, 9-year-old Lincoln with ex Javi Marroquin and 13-year-old son Isaac with ex Jo Rivera.
The former “16 and Counting” star subtly confirmed in July that she and Scott had welcomed a baby when she mentioned watching the Culpo family’s reality show for the first time while “in the hospital having one of [her] kids.”
Fans were quick to point out that the TLC series’ first and only season aired in November 2022, the same month that the US Sun reported Lowry gave birth to her fifth child.
Lopez accidentally spilled the pregnancy news in July when he tweeted — and deleted — a shady post, seemingly about Lowry.
“Out here talking bout you’ll beat me up now you know you gotta protect the belly,” Lopez, 29, wrote at the time. “Stop it.”

The “Pressure Talks With Single Dads” podcast host elaborated in a video, which he later removed from the platform.
“As a woman, what posses you to say, ‘I will really beat you the f–k up,’ knowing that … you can’t fight?” he asked. “Granted, I get it. Your boyfriend’s in the car, but why would you want him to get his ass whooped?”
Fans speculated at the time that Lopez was referring to Lowry and Scott.
“He made her announcement😂😂😂,” one Instagram user wrote, while another added, “I don’t believe Chris on anything he says. He’s desperate for the attention. He wants to get on her nerves.”
Lowry revealed the following month that she had moved on with Scott, though she initially did not share her partner’s name or face via Instagram.
The duo, who met when she moved in next door to the construction worker’s Delaware home, have been living together since April.
